I wonder if Shrub mentioned any of this in his speech today?
Best to just go and look at the nice chart here.
Thom Hartmann was reading this on the radio today and I intended to look it up but my dear wife had already sent it to me. I bet it is being passed around a lot since it is a wonderful rebuttal to any nonsense Bush will try floating in his speech today.
Here is a bit of it:
***
The Country Bush Inherited, The Country Bush Leaves Behind
THE ECONOMY
What he inherited from Clinton -- REAL GDP GROWTH
4.09% Over Prior 8 Years
TODAY UNDER BUSH
2.65% Over Prior 7 Years
NATIONAL DEBT
What he inherited from Clinton
$5.7 Trillion
TODAY UNDER BUSH
$9.2 Trillion
BUDGET DEFICIT/SURPLUS
What he inherited from Clinton
$431 Billion Surplus over the Previous Three Budget Years
TODAY UNDER BUSH
$734 Billion Deficit over the Previous Three Budget Years
NEW PRIVATE SECTOR
JOBS CREATED
Clinton: 1.76 Million Jobs Per Year Over Previous 8 Years
Bush: 369,000 Jobs Per Year Over Previous 7 Years
Etc.
All nicely referenced at the site of course.
Can't argue with the facts Jack.
