See the video clip here.

On Real Time With Bill Maher, retired Army Major General Paul D. Eaton explains why the Republicans have been the worst thing for the military.

"We've got this thing that so many military believe that Republican administrations are good for the military. That is rarely the case. And, we have to get a message through to every soldier, every family member, every friend of soldiers that the Republican party, the Republican dominated Congress has absolutely been the worst thing that's happened to the United States Army and the United States Marine Corps."

The idea that the Rs are good for the military is part of the very successful R propaganda, speciously based on the fact that most higher level officers are Rs (and on the fact that Rs usually disapproved of whatever war they were used in). The bulk of the military has always been Dems and the Dems have always been the ones to make sure they were fed, clothed, and housed (and patched up).

Since the military routinely engages in morally despicable and barbaric interventions, it must be asked: Isn't it good to be bad for the military?

IMO it would be wonderful if the USEmpire's military were totally destroyed.

Max Cleland gives Bush and Cheney a powerful smack down in this CNN clip.

"Where the hell were you in the Vietnam War? If you had gone to Vietnam like the rest of us, maybe you would have learned something about war."

Latest military recruiting tactics:

Image

"Sgt. Cory Elder smiled as he surveyed the field of battle. There were soldiers everywhere-300 camouflaged combatants gripping machine guns and barking into walkie-talkies. There were smoke grenades. There were Humvees. There was even an airplane. But despite all the accoutrements, this was hardly Fallujah, and these troops-in Coram, N.Y., last Sunday to play a paintball game called Behind Enemy Lines-were only weekend warriors. For now, that is. Hoping to convert today's wanna-bes into tomorrow's cadets, Elder, an Army recruiter, had stocked an "Army of One" tent with key chains, coffee mugs, footballs, baseball caps, T shirts and customized dog tags. Soon, a bunch of teenage boys were grasping for the prizes-and giving recruiters their names, numbers and e-mails in return. "This is our target audience," says Elder. "It's a perfect match."

So the war on terror is just a big, expensive game of capture the flag?

It's a big expensive video game to W and his followers. This generation of kids is far enough away from the reality - and young enough to still believe themselve immortal - to unconsciously put the "war on terror" in the category of reality TV. It is a total betrayal of America's youth to encourage that perception.

Right, Barbara, a total betrayal. I have a song inspired by military recruitment commercials. BTW a Judas cow is a cow used to lead other cows into a slaughterhouse.

Judas Cow - Hogeye Bill

Judas cow, leading your peers into a slaughterhouse
- Don't join don't join don't go.
Judas cow, deliver your friends to the slaughterhouse
- Don't join, no!

Talk about courage and cultural good
Mix with tradition and sweet motherhood
Toss in the poison: Obedience to State
Bind it with platitudes, jingos, and fate.

See the navy nurse helping people in need, she does her best
She leads young dupes into the clutches of State
See the mountain-climbing warrior standing proudly upon the crest
Dying in a foreign land isn't mentioned in the ad.

Judas cow, leading your peers into a slaughterhouse
- Don't join don't join don't go.
Judas cow, deliver your friends to the slaughterhouse
- Don't join, no!

Talk about courage and cultural good
Mix with tradition and sweet motherhood
Toss in the poison: Obedience to State
Bind it with platitudes, jingos, and fate.

Teamwork, fun, and bold adventure, comradery
Helping your fellow man by serving the State
Don't tell them they may be ordered to do treachery
They may be ordered to murder people.

Judas cow, leading your peers into a slaughterhouse
- Don't join don't join don't go.
Judas cow, deliver your friends to the slaughterhouse
- Don't join, no!

We pay for college, we have high tech toys
A government frat house where boys can be boys
All you must do is give us your life
Do as you're told and don't think twice.

Judas cow, leading your peers into a slaughterhouse
- Don't join don't join don't go.
Judas cow, deliver your friends to the slaughterhouse
- Don't join, no!
