WH: bin Laden Capture "A Success That Hasn't Occured Yet"
By Justin Rood - December 29, 2006, 8:25 AM
Five years after the Sept. 11 attacks, Osama bin Laden is still at large -- but that's not a failure of White House policy, says Frances Fragos Townsend. As she explained to CNN's White House correspondent Ed Henry last night:
HENRY: You know, going back to September 2001, the president said, dead or alive, we're going to get him. Still don't have him. I know you are saying there's successes on the war on terror, and there have been. That's a failure.
TOWNSEND: Well, I'm not sure -- it's a success that hasn't occurred yet. I don't know that I view that as a failure.

We're skipping that little faux pas when W said he didn't know where ibn Ladin was and didn't care, are we? The man (bin Ladin) is probably dead by now, resting peacefully in some well-tended Muslim graveyard in some little town on the Pakistan border, while his "seconds" - he has so many of them - continue his "dream" in his name. Sort of like christianity got started. Give it another 50 years and it will become an official religious sect. Have a handful of his followers claim he rose from the dead and it will become its own religion - complete with opportunistic Europeans claiming to be the "true" recipients of the "keys to the kingdom". Meanwhile, W will keep blathering along misdirecting our attention while stealing us blind (don't think he'll get his hands out of the taxpayers' pockets after Jan 2009 - he'll find/devise a way), like a true carnie shill.
