Company Building US Border Fence Snared for Hiring Illegal Immigrants
A Southern California fence-building company and two executives pleaded
guilty to knowingly hiring illegal immigrants and agreed to pay a
combined penalty of $5 million (3.79 million euros). The executives could
also go to prison.
The irony is great. The gov't can't say we didn't warn them when they started this nonsense. Who did they THINK was going to be building that fence? A 700-mile fence on a 2,000-mile border is pretty stupid, but if people really want to go over it rather than around it, you know a KBR subsidy in Mexico will be building and selling 51-foot ladders for that 50-foot wall. (The only ones having problems with a border fence will be several already endangered species suffering from curtailment of an already insufficient habitat.)
