Hopefully no one on here needs to be reminded that it is election day. But if it slipped your mind this is your reminder.

A few reasons to vote:
Legalized torture
Abandoning the survivors of Hurricane Katrina
Lying about WMDs to get us into war
Outing a CIA agent as an act of political revenge
Suspending habeas corpus indefinitely
Laying claim to the right to declare anyone guilty of being an “enemy combatant” without trial
Sparking civil war in Iraq
Shoehorning shady judges onto courts without the proper checks from Congress
Aiding repugnant levels of war profiteering and/or being war profiteers themselves (especially Cheney)
Illegal wiretapping and spying on ordinary Americans, possibly all of us
The Abramhoff scandal and the K Street Project
Ignoring and manipulating science to fit their agenda
Secretive Energy Task Force meetings and manipulating the Supreme Court to protect them
Stealing not one, but possibly two elections
Bringing government to a screeching halt to grandstand about one woman in a vegetative state
Diebold
Lying to workers about the safety of the air around Ground Zero (a lie which just goes to show that they will lie even if they have nothing to lose by telling the truth)
And if that isn't enough, here are a few thousand more.

I also voted early and am taking my "one day to celebrate" - but considering how little time before campaigning starts again (that's if you don't count the various presidential hopefuls that are already campaigning), we need to get right back to work pressuring our Dem majority to revoke those unconstitutional, fascist laws. THEN we can be assured of the freedom to deal with things that might seem more important (global warming, global poverty, global economy - and how they impact local peoples, including us).
