New Astrology Sign?
Astronomer Parke Kunkle says that due to changes in the Earth's alignment the dates of many zodiac signs have changed, according to NBC. In addition, there may be a 13th Zodiac sign: Ophiuchus.

...The change didn't happen over night either. The 12 signs were designated to different periods of the year almost 3,000 years ago, when astrology began, and since then the Earth's position in relation to the sun has changed.

While the sign many people were born under may now be different, it shouldn't affect horoscope readings, according to NBC.

I had my whole chart done once and was told I have the same chart as Don Tyson. I 've always been a Capricorn, and therefore I'm supposed to be very Type A, career-oriented, money-driven, organized, etc. But really I've never even (successfully) balanced my checkbook, so I've never felt like a Capricorn, or like Don Tyson. So I'm glad my sign changed, although I thought it would go the other way and I'd be an Aquarius instead of a Sagittarius, you know, since that's important.

Allstate Corp. retracted a press release on Wednesday that was meant to be a joke, displaying the accident rates of drivers according to their zodiac signs.

"We recently issued a press release on zodiac signs and accident rates, which led to some confusion around whether astrological signs are part of the underwriting process," said the insurer, in its retraction. "Astrological signs have absolutely no role in how we base coverage and set rates."

Allstate also said, "We deeply apologize for any confusion this may have caused."

The insurance company's original press release claimed that Scorpios, who have a "perfectionist nature," were the safest drivers in 2010, because they were involved in only 26,833 accidents. Virgos on the other hand, which Allstate characterized as "worried and shy," were involved with 211,650 accidents, making them the worst offenders, according to the company.
