I've been hearing a lot about these billboards lately and it never fails to amaze me how irrational the religious can get. There are fine examples right on that article. How is positively pointing out that religion divides us and thus needs to stay out of government an attack or condemnation of belief? Why in the world do they feel so
entitled to insert their religion into politics and the every day life of others? There is nothing even remotely offensive or aggressive about that billboard except for the fact it suggests we should live in harmony and no religion should have precedent over another. Oh, no! How terrible!
I'm not surprised that most of them aren't aware of the very secular intentions of the founding fathers or that the pledge was
edited in 1954, but insisting that Christianity has some sort of right over the nation as a whole is so intensely primitive it never fails to make me shake my head in disbelief.
Boy, there are some real gems in those comments, albeit most of the ridiculously asinine and typical. I laughed at one of the more recent fundamentalist ones, though!
