The Wretch Limbaugh interviewed Dick Cheney on his radio show yesterday. Asked about criticism of how the war is going, Cheney had this to say (emphasis added):
CHENEY: Well, I think there’s some natural level of concern out there because in fact, you know, it wasn’t over instantaneously.
[DOUG: What a lie. People are "concerned" only because the war wasn't over quickly? Not because Cheney himself lied about it. Not because we've lost thousands of good men and women for a lie. Not because our own generals say we're losing. Not because the Iraqi government says Iraq is in a civil war. No, it's just impatience because we want instant victories. Aren't we just so unfair? And this from the moronic administration that had the "Mission Accomplished" banner put on the USS Abraham Lincoln! (Rummy had the phrase "Mission Accomplished" removed from Bush's speech that day, at the last minute.)]
CHENEY CONT'D: It’s been a little over three years now since we went into Iraq, so I don’t think it’s surprising that people are concerned.
On the other hand, this government has only been in office about five months, five or six months now. They’re off to a good start. It is difficult, no question about it, but we’ve now got over 300,000 Iraqis trained and equipped as part of their security forces. They’ve had three national elections with higher turnout than we have here in the United States. If you look at the general overall situation, they’re doing remarkably well.
