The GOP & Children
THIS JUST IN:
President Bush today announced a name change for his "No Child Left Behind" initiative, in order to minimize the negative effects of the Foley scandal on the GOP. Henceforth the plan shall be called:
No American Minor Boy Left Alone (NAMBLA).
Everybody loves an acronym.

Considering the Rs are intent on passing a law to keep pregnant victims of incest from aborting without permission of their abuser, you could just leave it at "No Child Left Alone" or NCLA. As far as W's education program is concerned, that should be renamed "No Child Educated" or NCE.

Rick,
Well now my wife thinks I a real idiot! She was like I thought everyone knew what NAMBLA was. Not only that I Googled it on my work lap top (after hours) of course.
I can not believe how the r's are giving this all the soft shoe treatment. I was watching CNN earlier tonight and I do not know who was being interviewed but he was some one in the r's camp and he almost was saying that what Foley was doing was "research" for the committee for exploited children. Who ever this was he went on to claim that if Foley had any child porn on his computer it would be for research purposes so don't be surprised if it is found on his computer.
It really seems like the Democrats are being quite about all of this and I hope that is a strategy of taking the "high road". It might be better to let those that have supported the r's to see the hypocrisy for themselves instead of beating them over the head with it.
I am voting and hope that come November that we see a change in at least the House and I hope the Senate. If the Democrats got control of both houses it will be fun watching "w" squirm for two years.

Research. Indeed!
That's what I would tell 'em if I was that guy. I wonder how they would have reacted if Bill told them he was doing research for his new moisture-proof cigar idea....
The guys are all creeps, thugs, and mf's. If we don't get pretty much of a clean sweep this November then, all I can say is we get what we deserve. But then, you gotta feel kind of sorry for even REpubs' children - having to live in the world Duhhhhhhhhbyuh & Co. have made for them.

Pat Robertson, who was doing so well for lo these many months, blew it tonight on Scarborough Country. I saw him try to pass the buck for Foley onto the media, who "sat on" the story about Foley and so are just as culpable as the GOP leaders in the House. So he says.
But worse, he said that Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton marched in a Gay Pride parade that included NAMBLA floats. One of the other panelists pointed out that OF COURSE Pelosi and Clinton don't support NAMBLA, but Pat protested that "If I were in a parade..!" And he was mercifully cut off before he made himself look like even more of an idiot.

Well Baber, I see you post equally trite and inane fodder over here as well. Let me see how I can deflate your all republicans are evil/stupid/blah/blah drivel. Contrary to your belief, most mainstream Republicans, including myself want

- Denny Hastert to step down as speaker
- Foley criminally investigated and prosecuted
- All who withheld information from the public to face some consequences! No matter the party

Just like on NWAP, huh?GOPRazorback wrote:So liberals beware....I am here to stay, and LOGIC will rule the day.
Have you checked the archives? Suffice it to say, Darrel and Doug regularly made mincemeat out of those guys.

OK, I admit it - I don't know what NAMBLA is & I sure as heck am not going to google it on my work computer. From the comments, I'm not sure I want to know - but I definitely don't want to visit their site.
GOPRazorback is proving once again that it's harder to be a progressive than a regressive/Republican. All they have to do is insult, we have to back things up. They don't seem to give a rat's rear for our rights, but we have to protect theirs. Sigh. I learned it at my mother's knee, but 50 years practice doesn't make it any easier.

GOPR,
As I may have mentioned to you (it's hard to tell when you guys have so many identities) on another blog, I hope Hastert stays until the hammer drops in November. It is understandable that you guys want him to disappear - not so much because you're concerned about his performance, but rather that he hurts your election chances. Remember though, if he does split, you've still got one huge albatross named BUSH that it is hard to disassociate yourselves from when you've got that (R) behind your name. Maybe we should get ourselves a Ken Starr and put all those (R)'s under oath and AX 'em which ones are card-carrying members of NAMBLA....
After November?
Until then, I remain,
Trite & ....whatever

He should explain the "logic" behind letting Ash post the Drudge trash that the Foley IMs were nothing but "pranks" initiated by the pages. (Even were it true, it seems Foley was quick to agree...) We won't expect anyone to post a retraction, of course, even though Drudge the Dope has been busted and has "altered" his story.Darrel wrote:Gee, where is GOPRazorback to give us our logic lesson?
