The Christian fake news network OneNewsNow posted this article:
U.S. military destroys soldier's Bibles

When I read that headline, I got worried. All we need is soldiers getting their magic books confiscated and we'll be seeing all kinds of persecution cards being presented.

Then I read the article. The US and Afghanistan have an agreement that the soldiers are not to prosyletize. This is not to supress christianity. It's to not agrevate an already religously volatile region.

The bibles we're sent to a soldier from his home church. They probably spent a penny or two on those translations. They were written in two of the local languages. Obviously these bible were sent to Afghanistan for the sole purpose of prosyletizing. OneNutNow saying that these were the soldier's bibles was stretching the truth a bit. Though, I cringe at the thought of the military destroying these books, because I am repulsed by book burnings. But, Maybe, it was a good idea to destroy the bibles in case they happened to get into the wrong hands and cause all kinds of woes for our troops over there. Also, why did we have to hear about this story from Al Jazeer? It should have been taken care of before there was any news leaked about it.
