Christian Site's Ban on G-Word Sends Homosexual to Olympics

Being incredible homophobes, a certain Christian website's administrators have instituted a filter that replaces the word "gay" with "homosexual."

A sprinter -- who went to school at the U of A in Fayetteville -- recently qualified for the Summer Olympics in Beijing.

The story appeared on their website:
Tyson Homosexual was a blur in blue, sprinting 100 meters faster than anyone ever has.
His time of 9.68 seconds at the U.S. Olympic trials Sunday doesn't count as a world record, because it was run with the help of a too-strong tailwind. Here's what does matter: Homosexual qualified for his first Summer Games team and served notice he's certainly someone to watch in Beijing.
"It means a lot to me," the 25-year-old Homosexual said. "I'm glad my body could do it, because now I know I have it in me."
The sprinter's real name is Tyson Gay.

The news director for the offending organization explained their rationale: the word gay was "positive," and that was just unacceptable. (In other words, they admitted that their actual intent was to present homosexuality as negative.)

Original story, including link to the article in question, here.

They've already renamed a pro basketball player "Rudy Homosexual," but it took more media attention to make them change the filter. Now we won't get to see Homosexual Paris, donning homosexual apparel, and feeling pretty, witty, and homosexual.

We can, however, count on continued irrational hatred and bigotry from the religious reich-- er, right.

Ha ha! That is so funny! I tried to read it straight faced to my wife and I couldn't.

Reminds me of when I commented on GodTube and used the word "assume" and the filter transformed it to "@#$ume".

They already changed the page, and I couldn't find any cached versions. But I found this screenshot.

At my college, some historians have informed me that the "Gay 90's," the carefree era of the 1890's, has been renamed "The Frolicking 90's," or something like that. Students don't understand that "Gay" has had many different meanings.
