Tis from under the Spout, that His Glory comes out

Snapped this picture in Springdale today. It's on the website too.

I am not familiar with any biblical references to God's glory coming out from under a spout.

Maybe if you poke JC with this beautiful things (this is the cover of a Christian album):

Then the glory comes out.

Oh wait, I think I found it. It's an old hymn called:

"Hope Of Glory - Under The Spout, Where The Glory Comes Out"

Is it referring to a baptismal font? Or are we supposed to think that Jesus spouted blood, either during his "passion" or while hanging on that cross-beam? (You know, the blood that washes things white - tells you the guy who wrote that never did the laundry!)

The Spout, the spout!

Someone at NWACC told me today that the title is from an old hymn. Why there is a spout is not clear. She couldn't remember the other words.

I tried to track this down. As mentioned below, it was a recording 1n 1974 by Jim Moore - The Hope of Glory. Under..

The saying may (or may not) have started with Phineas Franklin Bresee, founder of the Church of the Nazarene. He died in 1915. It is mentioned in one of his biographies online. However, it may have an earlier origin. One person said it was a back country hymn, like There Ain't No Flies on Jesus. Not much on the Internet on it.

I have a thought. Maybe it is a reference to god pissing on his followers and then telling them that it is raining!

Sorry but that is the first thing that pop in my head.

JamesH: That was my impression too. It is easy to mentally change the word "glory" to another obvious one you gave.

It wouldn't be that hard to physically do it either.
