Kansas BOE primary results -- IDiots are out!

Post by Savonarola »

In the Kansas Board of Education primaries last night, enough creationist conservatives were defeated to ensure that pro-science candidates will regain a majority.

(Bolded names indicate pro-science candidates.)

Waugh defeated Hall in the Democratic primary. There is no Republican IDiot challenger for this seat.

Harry McDonald, former president of Kansas Citizens for Science, lost a very tight race to IDiot John Bacon.

Former teacher Sally Cauble ousted wacko loudmouth incumbent Connie Morris.

Donna Viola lost her bid to replace Ken Willard.

Jana Shaver defeated ID hopeful Brad Patzer, who tried to succeed his pro-ID mother-in-law.

To the best of my knowledge, the pro-ID candidates still must defeat a Democratic counterpart in November in order to retain their seats.

I'm not familiar with exactly how many IDiots were not up for reelection this year, but these results lead me to believe that the old 6-4 majority of IDiots will now be 6-4 the other way even if no IDiots are defeated in November.

I wonder if good ol' Pat Robertson will wish a flurry of tornadoes on Kansas for "voting God out."

I should add:

The Discovery Institute, which is the foremost authority on "researching" and promoting Intelligent Design, took part in a push to re-elect the IDiots. In other words, instead of spending money on "research," they chose to spend it on political campaigns.

One can only wonder why such an organization continues to do absolutely no research, considering they're so sure there's plenty to find...

Just a dirty jab brought to you by Family Guy, because it's largely appropriate (and should be vaguely familiar to all FFForums members):

I just back from visiting friends in Kansas who are - gasp - republicans (moderates - their party deserted them long ago). They not only worked on the campaigns to get rid of the IDiots, but are planning on voting Dem this year in the races where they didn't defeat the IDiots in the primary.
