Biblical Self-Protection against Atheists

I noticed that the bible has a good number of self-protecting mechanisms against logical arguments for/against god. I find this almost ingenious! Heres three examples:

Isaiah 29:13-14

[13] Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
[14] Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

Luke 10:21-24

[21] In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
[22] All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
[23] And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:
[24] For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

1 Corinthians 1:18-21

[18] For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
[19] For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
[20] Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
[21] For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

Basically, what this means is that you cannot know God through logic and knowledge. The only way to know God is through believeing in him.

Now THIS is ingenious! I tell you a completely off-the-wall story, telling you that there are flying pigs, and then, when you tell me that you dont see them, I tell you "Ah! If you dont believe in them with all your heart and never doubt their existance, then you will never be able to see them!"

It seems to me that scripture is perfectly aware of all the logical issues with belief in god and has no answers, so it takes the easy way out and says "Oh well! Reasoning doesnt apply".

Well done, I must say!

Good point. And let me add another. In the New Testiment they had the forsight to prophecy that someday there would be scoffers.
Just imagine. They have a religion full of insane rantings and then predict that people in the future might come along and actually point this out.

They had to come up with SOME excuse for why 1) the second coming didn't happen while the folks who actually walked the earth and broke bread with Jesus were still around & 2) political power should be concentrated in the hands of the "Christian" leaders.
