Ray Comfort & Kirk Cameron Give Banana Argument for God

Post by Dardedar »

A priceless video clip of Ray Comfort demonstrating his banana argument for God's existence to Kirk Cameron. We'll have to show a few minutes of this at the next meeting:

In Comfort's ridiculous book God Doesn't Believe in Atheists, Comfort explains that there aren't really any atheists, and then he gives arguments to supposedly refute them.

Comfort also claims that evolutionists assert that male and female spiders evolved separately and then by coincidence happen to be able to mate.

Comfort also had a section in which he offers a $1,000 reward for anyone who can show an example of a Bible error. I sent him a half-dozen examples, and he wrote back that trying to prove that the Bible has errors is like trying to prove that water isn't wet. So, he said, he doesn't even have to look at my examples because he knows they must be wrong.

I also invited several other people on a Bible error discussion list to send in examples, and they got the same response. I threatened to sue. I think it was a direct consequence of this that Comfort let his book go out of print but then brought it back under a similar title.

Comfort is pathetic. Darrel and I roasted people on his message board so thoroughly that Comfort "froze" the message board for at least six months, last time I looked. I don't know if it's still around.

Comfort has been using this for some time, and on occasion Cameron presents the banana argument instead. In fact, there's a thread on IIDB where the running joke is to see how long a sensible person can last before being physically sickened by the ignorance.

Comfy's website is here:

http://www.livingwaters.com/

However, I don't see any message board anymore. Comfy hardly ever posted, leaving his sock puppets to do the job. And we kicked their butts so bad it was amazing to see.

By the way, Comfy has an apple argument similar to his pathetic banana argument.

I once wrote an e-mail to him with the subject line, "You May Experience Some Diss, Comfort" I don't think we've ever roasted someone so helpless in apologetics as Ray Comfort.

I took a look around, and I couldn't find one either. What a pansy.

Well, that did it. One banana lesson and WA-LA: I'm a believer!

Just finished watching this oh-so-enlightening *cough, cough* video.

Couple of things: loved the way they mispelled "athiest" on the pop-up graphic above whack-job's head near the beginning of the tape, and I would bet anyone dollars to doughnuts that the "athiests" they supposedly found and interviewed were complete shills - exactly like those folks Benny Hinn fake heals from his audience.

Watching the video was sheer torture, so you'll excuse me if I now have a blinding headache and really must lay down . . .

My favorite part is the claim that the banana is "curved toward the mouth" for ease of eating. Of course, it's only curved that way if you hold it that way.

Funny how he doesn't mention that it's the perfect consistency and shape to choke children to death, which happens a lot with bananas and hot dogs.

And if the ease of eating the banana is proof of god's existence, is the artichoke evidence that there is no god?

I wouldn't count the artichoke as evidence there is no god, but I count this guy as evidence there's no intelligent design. (As to children choking to death, it isn't the shape of the banana - which came first - but the shape of the human windpipe that causes the problem.)

Actually, what makes it even more funny is that the banana he was using as a prop (as well as all other supermarket-bought bananas) have been genetically altered via some of the same mechanisms responsible for evolution... Now there's some irony for you.
