It's time for the June meeting of the Fayetteville Freethinkers. This month we have something a little different that we are considering.

First, we will have a few presentations at the beginning of the meeting, as usual. Were you perhaps planning to head off to the new creationist museum in Kentucky some time soon? Now you don't have to. Here at freethinker headquarters we have figured out a way to have your intelligence insulted while saving you the $20 entry fee and the long drive to Kentucky. Darrel will give a presentation taking us on a fun filled virtual tour of this brand new $27 million intellectual monument to young earth creationism. After that, Gary Berger, a new member who has recently moved to the area will give a short video presentation with a "surprise guest." And we will also have the latest hysterical "Mr. Deity" clips for all to view.

If the timing works out right, the second half of the meeting will be a field trip. We would like to go to the local movie theater to see Michael Moore's new movie "Sicko," a scathing indictment of the health care system in the U.S. Michael Moore is the award-winning director and producer who brought us "Roger & Me," "Bowling for Columbine" and "Farenheit 9/11." His work is usually hard-hitting and provocative. From all accounts in this latest movie he has outdone himself. Reports are that people from almost all political persuasions are finding that "Sicko" exposes the problems in our health care system with devastating clarity. Even if you don't agree it should make for some interesting discussions.

So, a few presentations and then a movie. And maybe next month, a picnic at the lake!

Watch for our snappy new ads to appear in the NWA TIMES. The first one should run Thursday (6/28 ).
