THIS IS NOT HUMOR. It should be but this is part of where yo muney goes.

CBS 5) BERKELEY A Berkeley watchdog organization that tracks military spending said it uncovered a strange U.S. military proposal to create a hormone bomb that could purportedly turn enemy soldiers into homosexuals and make them more interested in sex than fighting.

Pentagon officials on Friday confirmed to CBS 5 that military leaders had considered, and then subsquently rejected, building the so-called "Gay Bomb."

Heterosexual Soldiers and Sailors Think More About Sex

I can assure the Pentagon that heterosexual US soldiers and sailors already spend more time thinking about sex than fighting.

I am at my battle station. The ventilation is off to prevent spread of chemical and biological contamination throughout the ship. I am dripping in sweat. The smoking lamp is out. It is challenging to breath in my gas mask. My stomach is nauseous having been deprived of food for 12 hours. Focusing on my technical responsibilities consumes about 10 minutes of each hour. Thinking of sex consumes the balance of the each hour. My mind alternates between the various ports still on our schedule.

That's when I was 20-something. Twenty years later, at battle stations (general quarters) I actually think about my technical responsibilities longer...about 15 minutes of each hour.

Perhaps the solution is to retain us older folks longer...we have more fight in us....8.3% more fight!

As far as I can tell, all males and most females of that age group (especially at the younger end) spend more time thinking about sex than much of anything else. It goes with the territory. The idea that such a thing would keep them from being good fighters is worse than ridiculous. It's never stopped anyone - hetero or homo sexual - before.

Heck you guys had 23 hours to ask the funny stuff.

Will the bomb "straighten" out gay troops?

Dun No

Seems a study might be in order....what is the correlation between sex drive and volition to fight? Maybe I could get a get grant to study this.

Would the grant be federally funded? It's seems appropriate, since it's results could possibly impact military training. I'm not sure any of the profs here in the Sociology Dept would be willing to take that one on.

At least the Gay Bomb idea isn't as dumb as the military spending money hiring people to stare at goats (to see if they can kill them).

Darrell, I thought you were kidding (pun - sorry). Just how whacko does a plan have to be before the military will give it a miss on sight? I guess that is part of why military spending can be so high without spending diddly squat on the troops themselves.

"he Pentagon has admitted they once tried to develop a gay bomb-a bomb that would turn enemy soldiers gay. They said their goal was to turn the Iraq war into a musical."
