This is one of the best jeerings I've seen in years! A more deserving person couldn't be found.
"More than 1,000 advanced degrees were conferred this afternoon at the Graduate School’s Commencement ceremony in the Mullins Center, where protesters signaled their displeasure at the awarding of an honorary degree to former White House chief of staff Andrew H. Card Jr.
Opponents of the honorary degree, including many faculty members seated on the stage behind Card, held signs and banners, while other protesters among the graduates and in the audience chanted and used noisemakers to try and drown out the reading of the degree citation. Some of the signs read “Honor grads, Dis-Card” and “Card: No honor, no degree.”
The ceremony, which was attended by about 3,500 family members and well-wishers, continued during the noisy demonstration, and the protest stopped when Card returned to his chair after receiving his honorary doctor of public service degree from President Jack M. Wilson."
