Good heavens, it's time for the May meeting of the Fayetteville Freethinkers.
This month our meeting falls on Memorial Day weekend, but we hope to still have a big turnout. You can picnic with the relatives anytime. You need your freethinker fix and we have an exciting line up of presentations!
Our resident physicist Dr. Bill Harter will begin with the "What is a Freethinker?" part of our program. He provides the description: "Martin Luther meets String Theory and how reasoning can go bad."
This will lead naturally into Dr. Parker's main presentation, entitled: "The Neuroscience of Belief."
Doug Krueger will introduce our brand new freethinker tract on the Bible's endorsement of slavery. He will also explain how fundamentalists often try to minimize (read: "lie") about the biblical position on slavery. It's time to stop them from getting away with this blatant revisionism.
Also, students! The campus group Razorback Freethought Alliance is coming together. Kevin Metcalf needs joiners to get it going. Read about it at the new website he has just started:
www.razorbackfreethought.org
The University of Arkansas really needs this freethought presence on campus and we want to help them. If you are a student please consider joining this new group.
Hope to see you at the meeting Saturday.
