Bush Emergency Plan Dictatorial?
Wednesday, May 23, 2007 - FreeMarketNews.com

With scarcely a mention in the mainstream media, President Bush has ordered up a plan for responding to a catastrophic attack. In a new National Security Presidential Directive, Bush lays out his plans for dealing with a “catastrophic emergency.” Under that plan, he entrusts himself with leading the entire federal government, not just the Executive Branch. And he gives himself the responsibility “for ensuring constitutional government.” He laid this all out in a document entitled "National Security Presidential Directive/NSPD 51" and "Homeland Security Presidential Directive/HSPD-20."

I thought it strange that no MSM has covered this.

Here's google page with several links. Tip of hat to John Gray for the headsup.

He is already supposed to be doing that, and he is doing the opposite.

Oh, the irony!

Sounds like he's planning for a catastrophic attack. I'm sure he also defined "catastrophic attack" to permit him to declare "constitutional" martial law. (Considering the geographical size of the U.S., a real "catastrophic attack" could only be accomplished by the full combined military might of China, Russia, and most of Europe as they'd have to hit all three coasts at more or less the same time, plus a multiplicity of major power plants in "flyover country".) W is everything our Founders did their best to protect us from, and the very reason we have a congressional rather than a parlimentary system. The Rs, if they ever grow up enough to accept responsibility, will rue the day they gave over legislative authority to the executive office (R-dominated congresses from 2001 forward). The Dems may or may not be able to get it back.
