360 w/Anderson Cooper-Amazing Randi

Post by JamesH »

I just caught the end of the 360 w/ Anderson Cooper on CNN this morning but it was a debate between The Amazing Randi and Sylvia Brown's business manager. What a crock! The business manager was so flustered and pissed off she resorted to the only attack that was left. "Randi is an atheist!" and "how can he judge or test Sylvia Brown....we do everything for god.....yada, yada, yada!"

I swear the business manger lady looked like she had run a marathon. I wish I had seen the entire show because it looked like it was good.

Actually, I'd think an atheist - or at least an agnostic - would be the best for testing psychics. Fewer preconceived expectations. Of course, there are many things that don't go well in a hostile environment - if your audience expects you to screw up, you probably will (true of musicians, speakers, and jugglers I know), but testing, if it is objective, won't "expect" any specific answer. (HA! I double-dog dare you not to expect - You don't know the trouble I had with my students over what the "right" result was for a lab experiment. What is, is just doesn't fly with most people, especially kids.)
