700 miles of "fence"

Post by Betsy »

Just heard on the news that President Bush signed off today on construction of a 700 mile "fence" along the Mexican border to stop illegal immigration. They didn't actually describe the "fence." Does anyone else think this sounds really silly?

If you live in that area, I recommend going into the ladder business.

Or a wire-snip supply business . . . or a post-hole digger business . . . or a shovel supply business . . . or a concertina-wire business . . . or a business that specializes in "Welcome to America" signs . . .

Fences

Post by LaWood »

Aw man we don't need no damn fences. Just give Texans some shotguns and plenty of ammo. Wait! what will George Bush's buddies do for 3rd World priced labor?
The fence will be contracted to??? If you said Haliburton advance to goal.
They will use illegal immigrant labor, as in NOLA-Katrina, to build a fence which will feature at least NINE cost overruns. By 2014 the fence will be completed along with George Bush's "Guest Worker" program which includes plans to make available as much 3rd World priced labor as possible to all American corporations and eliminate our middle class.

So the thing to invest in is cheap cluster housing, running water optional, just South of the Border and be sure to buy some land to sell to Walmart and United Dollar Stores.

The problem with giving some shotguns and ammo to Texans is that close to half of them are "of Mexican heritage" - some of their families have been in Texas since before the Alamo.

The only things that a 700-mile fence will stop is the wild animals on their annual migration - probably endangering what few species aren't already on the endangered list.

The other ridiculous thing about a fence on the southern border is the fact that only 40 percent of the undocumented workers in the U.S. cross there. Most of them come either from Canada or on commercial carriers.

They have to pretend they're DOING something about the problem they invented to play divide and conquer the working classes. Of course, the only thing that fence is going to stop is wildlife (and those poor critters have enough problems with habitat loss already).
