yeah Greybear,
threats of hell and damnation are getting so old. All we ask for is a little evidence. Instead we get threats of torture after we die. It just doesn't work anymore for me. I don't fear death and I know it'll happen sooner or later. I can't know for certain what happens after death and neither can you. Lots of people say different things. Who do I believe? You, the Hindus, the Buddhists, The Muslims? Why should I believe any of you. Is it such a sin to say I don't know and I'm not going to assume anything?

Speaking of death, I saw an interesting segment on a TV medical program. In order to do surgery on a women's lung, they basically kill her (clinically dead) for over one hour. They literally drained all of her blood out so she had no pulse so they could see to remove scar tissue from her lungs. Then they put her blood back in and then restarted her heart. The trick to making this work is that they chilled her blood and body to ~70 degrees before removing it and then very slowly warmed it back up before reviving her. She seemed to make a complete recovery after the operation.

For those who believe you meet your maker when you die, I wonder what they think about this.

Wow. Interesting. Well to answer your question. You go before your maker, and if your not "ready"... Instant Toast!

Then they put your blood back in, you go back into your body (carefully following the "silver cord") and then all is well until you die again and get to meet him again. And if you're not "ready" Instant Toast!

Oh! I'm sorry I misunderstood. I LOVE toast! I wish I had one of those toasters with artificial intelligence from Red Dwarf. Grey, feel free to threaten me with instant toast, bagels, or anything that I can eat with cream cheese. As for attending a meeting, I would love to get to meet you. We usually go out and eat afterwords. I think you will find we are ALL much friendlier in person. However the entire point is to debate openly and honestly so as to learn from each other. Don't expect to be treated with kid gloves...but you will be treated with respect.

And I apologize for putting words in your mouth. I was being a lazy reader and misunderstood what you were saying I think. It was certainly not intentional.
