Minnesota Board Calls Senate Race for Franken
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- A Minnesota board certified results showing Democrat Al Franken winning the state's U.S. Senate recount over Republican Norm Coleman, whose lawyer promised a legal challenge that will keep the race in limbo for weeks.
The Canvassing Board's declaration started a seven-day clock for Sen. Coleman, the incumbent, to file a lawsuit protesting the result. His attorney Tony Trimble said the challenge will be filed within 24 hours.
The challenge will keep Mr. Franken from getting the election certificate he needs to take the seat in Washington. Mr. Trimble said the process "is now just at the beginning."

Re: Minnesota board certifies Al Franken wins recount
"Let's be frank: Norm Coleman doesn't have much of a future in electoral politics. Defeated Presidential candidates sometimes have nine lives, but defeated Senatorial candidates rarely do, and in his career running for statewide office, Coleman has lost to a professional wrestler, beaten a dead guy, and then tied a comedian. He doesn't have much to lose by fighting this to its bitter conclusion. But it's hard to envision how he'll come up with enough ballots to overtake Franken."

against Sen. Blanche Lincoln. Perhaps his loss in the last Pres. race just wetted his whistle for more publicity and adoration but I think he's
been labeled a loser and will remain so.
Anyone caught Huckabee's FOX News Show? It's slightly better than reruns of Lawrence Welk.

Maybe we should pass this pearl of wisdom on to Mike Huckabuck. He was defeated in his 1994 U.S. Senatorial bid. That's why he won't runDefeated Presidential candidates sometimes have nine lives, but defeated Senatorial candidates rarely do

Actually, despite my complete disagreement with Huckabee's Christian philosophy ruling his political position, he's a very personable good-natured guy and does very well with interviews. I haven't watched his show (why would I?) but I can't say that I'm completely ashamed of him. He handles himself quite well.

I agree Betsy, and he's probably smarter (or smoother) than McCain and Palin combined. If the repub's had picked him I think Obama still would have won but Huckabee might have done better than McCain did. Huckabee brings a preachers ability to empathize and connect with people. Plus he's not even insane on some issues (health care for children).
