Battle for Congress Suddenly Looks Competitive

Post by John Galt »

Get the Kool-Aid ready guys...

Besides the implosion of BHO and Biden admitting that Hillary would have been better than him, you have got THIS to ruin your weekend...

PRINCETON, NJ -- A potential shift in fortunes for the Republicans in Congress is seen in the latest USA Today/Gallup survey, with the Democrats now leading the Republicans by just 3 percentage points, 48% to 45%, in voters' "generic ballot" preferences for Congress. This is down from consistent double-digit Democratic leads seen on this measure over the past year.

All the beautiful details here:

"The new results come from a Sept. 5-7 survey conducted immediately after the Republican National Convention..."

Enjoy your temporary post convention bounce Galt.

Oh, you're gone already.

Coward.

Sometimes Galt quotes Rasmussen, when it's convenient I guess. I am not going to cherry pick, this was the first site that came up and the only on I checked. Let's see what they say:

Generic Congressional Ballot

GOP Gains Small Bit of Ground in Generic Congressional Ballot

Thursday, September 11, 2008

"The Democrats now lead the GOP by eight points on the Generic Congressional Ballot. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that, if given the choice, 45% of voters would choose their district’s Democratic candidate, while 37% would choose the Republican candidate." Rasmussen Reports

DAR
I'll take eight points thank you.

Lets provide a little context and look at the numbers through July (see their chart, same page, on the right):

09-07-08
Dem 45%
Rep 37%

08-31-08
DEM 46%
REP 36%

08-24-08
DEM 46%
REP 35%

08-17-08
DEM 46%
REP 36%

08-10-08
DEM 45%
REP 37%

08-03-08
DEM 46%
REP 36%

07-27-08
DEM 47%
REP 34%

07-20-08
DEM 45%
REP 36%

07-13-08
DEM 46%
REP 36%

07-06-08
DEM 47%
REP 34%

Those numbers look remarkably consistent don't they Galt? Someone seems to be on the bottom, and someone else on the bottom. I guess giving conservatives so much power didn't really work out as planned did it? It was a disaster.

And thanks for the drive-by.

Here's this to ruin yours: McCain said that being governor or mayor for a short period of time does NOT prepare you for the office of president.

=========
Back in October 2007, when McCain's candidacy still appeared dead and buried, the Senator berated the two Republican front runners for lacking the necessary political experience to handle commander in chief responsibilities.

"I have had a strong and a long relationship on national security, I've been involved in every national crisis that this nation has faced since Beirut, I understand the issues, I understand and appreciate the enormity of the challenge we face from radical Islamic extremism," the Senator declared. "I am prepared. I am prepared. I need no on-the-job training. I wasn't a mayor for a short period of time. I wasn't a governor for a short period of time."

See video here.
"We could have done something important Max. We could have fought child abuse or Republicans!" --Oona Hart (played by Victoria Foyt), in the 1995 movie "Last Summer in the Hamptons."

What does Galt mean about drinking koolaid? I understand the koolaid remark when people are talking about (alleged) blind followers, but in the context of telling us about a poll he likes I don't get it. Does he just like to throw random insults around whether they have any relevance or not? Strange.

He was trying to serve up some of his parties favorite. He probably watches O'Reilly a lot. It''s one of his main insults. The other one being "pinhead." So it's monkey see, monkey do, or rather, monkey hear, monkey repeat.

I noticed my right-wing friend Bill using the term "drive-by" several times in recent correspondence. Then the other day I gave Limbaugh a listen for two minutes. It was some insane rant. He used the term "drive-by" several times. I guess it means someone who takes a couple shots in passing and then runs away. Ironically, this is entirely how Limbaugh's conducts his show. And of course, it describes Galt's behavior to a tee. Drive-by is all he's got. Take a shot and RUN, away....
Some day I will find a right-winger who will stand and defend their beliefs and not be so cowardly.
