New Twist in Republican Hypocrisy

'D.C. madam' kills herself in Fla. coastal town

By MITCH STACY, Associated Press Writer

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. - A woman convicted two weeks ago of being the "D.C. Madam" hanged herself Thursday, apparently making good on her vow never to go to prison for running a high-end Washington prostitution ring.

A federal jury convicted Palfrey on April 15 of running a prostitution service that catered to members of Washington's political elite, including Sen. David Vitter, a [still in office, very conservative] Louisiana Republican. He was never charged with a crime.

One of the escort service employees was former University of Maryland, Baltimore County, professor Brandy Britton, who was arrested on prostitution charges in 2006. She committed suicide in January before she was scheduled to go to trial." LINK

Vitter's favorite hooker was Wendy Cortez:

Note:

"As background, several news outlets reported that in May 1999, Vitter replaced Congressman Bob Livingston after Livingston resigned due to an adultery scandal. Vitter said about Livingston's decision to resign, "It's obviously a tremendous loss for the state. I think Livingston's stepping down makes a very powerful argument that Clinton should resign as well and move beyond this mess", referring to the Monica Lewinsky scandal of President Bill Clinton." When Vitter said the above he was at the very same time regularly banging the bejezus out of Wendy above.

And how did the republicans respond to such hypocrisy?

"Marianne Means, a syndicated columnist for Hearst Newspapers, reported that Republican senators gave Vitter a "loud standing ovation" which she characterized as hypocritical by contrasting this with the Republican attitude toward President Clinton's marital infidelity.[133] The applause came after Vitter privately apologized to his colleagues."

They were applauding the fact that Vitter was fooling around with a woman and not a man. They were so relieved!

Are you suggesting if it was a convention of priests he might have gotten booed?

Well, at least Vitter was not trolling public restrooms or humping a child!

If prayers were answered I would have had it that Palfrey were acquitted and Vitter was hanged.

David Vitter will not be investigated.

The Senate Ethics Committee has decided not to investigate Louisiana Senator David Vitter.

The Republican was linked to an elite Washington prostitution ring owned by Deborah Jean Palfrey. Palfrey committed suicide May 1st, two weeks after being convicted of racketeering and money laundering.

The bipartisan ethics panel says it decided against a probe because the conduct occurred before Vitter became a senator. And it says it didn’t result in any criminal charges or involve the improper use of his public office or status.
