I just thought I'd introduce myself real quick, as my family & I will be moving to Fayetteville this summer for me to enter a doctoral program at the U of A.
We currently live in Tooele, Utah, which is a suburb of Salt Lake City. There are 4 of us: me, my husband, Russ, my daughter, Tanisha (age 12), & my son, Roddy (age 11).
We're involved in the Utah freethought community (Atheists of Utah http://atheists-of-utah.org/doku.php & Humanists of Utah http://www.humanistsofutah.org/). I have appeared on our local public radio (KRCL) alongside the director of Atheists of Utah, & my husband & I have been camp counselors at Camp Quest West http://west.camp-quest.org/ .
I have to admit that we were initially nervous about moving to Arkansas, but I'm excited to see such a thriving & healthy freethought group out there! I can't wait to meet some of you!

Welcome aboard Joye. Glad you were able to get the forum boards working for you.
You know, sometimes I forget just how successful our little group has become. When I went to Inquiry West in Los Angeles (Hollywood) we asked how many they were getting for their meetings. I think the fellow said 20-25. These guys have a large building, a library, a small auditorium etc and they have a population base of, well, many millions. We have about 170 people on our email list and are getting a meeting attendance of 35-40 with some people traveling 2-3 hours! (Harrison, Springfield).
One that that we have more of however >> Fundies!
We'll have to get you to give a presentation telling us all about your experiences with working with the Freedom From Religion Foundation. I have been thinking that we are long over due on having a thorough presentation about them.
