"As state Rep. Bob Allen [R] was being led to jail on a charge of soliciting a sex act in a public bathroom, a reporter asked what he was doing at Veterans Memorial Park.
Allen, unshaven and wearing rumpled shorts and an ill-fitting shirt, turned to the television camera and replied, "I helped build that park."
At the lowest point in his life, the seven-year legislator found a photo op, a chance to plug a career that some political experts say was already over.
It was classic Bob Allen."

Here's one more building block for the Culture of Corruption:
WASHINGTON, Sept. 18 — A top House Democrat began an inquiry on Tuesday into accusations that the State Department's inspector general repeatedly interfered with investigations into fraud and abuse in Iraq and Afghanistan, including security defects at the new United States Embassy in Baghdad.
Representative Henry A. Waxman of California, the chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, sent the inspector general, Howard J. Krongard, a 14-page letter spelling out accusations made by several current and former employees of Mr. Krongard's office who documented their charges with e-mail messages.

Former Sebastian County Prosecutor Accused Of Rape
State Taps Investigator For Fields

TIMES RECORD •
The Pulaski County prosecuting attorney or his designee was appointed Monday to represent the state in the investigation of Fort Smith attorney and former Sebastian County prosecutor Ron Fields.
According to an order on file with the circuit clerk, 12th Judicial District Circuit Judge Mark Hewett accepted the recommendation of the Prosecutor Coordinator’s Office in Little Rock and decreed that 6th District Prosecuting Attorney Larry Jegley and/or his designee will take up the case.
The 58-year-old Fields, listed as Ronald Eugene Fields on the court order, was accused in June of having sexually abused a female of undisclosed age while her mother was at work.
Fort Smith police began investigating the allegations June 22 and forwarded their completed file to Sebastian County Prosecuting Attorney Gunner DeLay’s office Friday.
However, DeLay said he filed a motion to have a special prosecuting attorney appointed, because the case “created a serious conflict of interest” for his office. Several people in the office, including lawyers and support staff, were either hired by Fields or worked for him when he was the prosecutor.
DeLay said Friday that Hewett quickly granted the motion and that the Prosecutor Coordinator’s office would make a recommendation.
Jegley did not return phone messages left at his office Monday.
Fields, who served as the 12th Judicial District prosecuting attorney from 1979-96, is a partner in the law firm Chronister, Fields and Flake.

Former Sebastian County Prosecuting Attorney Ron Fields has been on administrative leave from the Department of Homeland Security since last summer because of an FBI investigation and grand jury proceedings, his attorney confirmed Friday.
Eddie Christian of Fort Smith said the investigation is the “biggest witch hunt he’s ever seen.”
Christian said the FBI has accused Fields of dealing drugs and of ordering Jay C. Rider, then a Fort Smith police captain, to shoot a Fort Smith woman, Lori Murchison, in 1995.
Christian also represents Rider.
“It’s based on information they’ve gotten from totally unreliable sources,” Christian said. “I think the sources for the government investigation are crackpots. I think they’re people with imaginations that run wild.”
When reached Friday evening, the FBI office in Washington would not comment.
Murchison disappeared from Fort Smith on Sept. 2, 1995. Police believe she did not leave the area willingly. Murchison was last seen that day when she was released from jail on a public intoxication complaint. She planned to get her paycheck, cash it and then return to bail her boyfriend out of jail.
She never picked up her paycheck from Oaks Lodge Nursing Home and never returned to bail Jerry Cogan out of jail. A manager at the Continental Motel told police Murchison came into the office to get a key to her room between 2 and 4 p.m. on Sept. 2, according to the case file at the Fort Smith Police Department.
The case remains unsolved.
Christian said the FBI investigation was the result of “two or three” local people who went to the FBI and reported “rumors and innuendoes.”
Rider, who is now an agent with the state Alcoholic Beverage Control, has testified before the Washington grand jury regarding the Fields case, Christian said

Another Toe-Tapping Republican Caught In Sting - Ends Senate Bid
"Yesterday’s Times-Picayune painted another dismal picture of another Republican pervert who trawls from public restroom to public restroom looking for… love? Well, looking for something. Joey DiFatta is the chairman of St. Bernard Parish Council and a prominent Republican leader (until 2004 on the GOP state party Executive Committee). He just withdrew from his state senate race, after his arrests for lewd behavior in a public restroom were made public."

No wonder this one didn't make the MSM (Mainstream Media). The guy is Catholic. So many prominent Catholic clergymen are gay, and so many prominent Catholics period, that it's hardly news.
Pretty soon, that someone is gay and Republican will cease to be news also, if the GOP isn't careful.

Republican is the New Gay
SPOKANE -- State Representative Richard Curtis says he's not gay, but police reports and court records indicate the Republican lawmaker from southwestern Washington dressed up in women's lingerie and met a Medical Lake man in a local erotic video store which led to consensual sex at a downtown hotel and a threat to expose Curtis' activities publicly.
A search warrant unsealed Tuesday morning disclosed that State Representative Richard Curtis (R - La Center) had sex in his room at the Davenport Tower with a man identified as Cody Castagna, 26, of Medical Lake, who he met at the Hollywood Erotic Boutique on October 26th.
Curtis, according to a search warrant unsealed Tuesday, went to the Hollywood Erotic Boutique on East Sprague on October 26th at approximately 12:45 a.m. The store clerk, who had talked with Curtis, referred to him as "The Cross-Dresser" and said that during their conversations he confirmed he was gay and was married with children at home.

Judge won't disqualify D.A. office
The Salt Lake Tribune
See here.
A 3rd District judge this week scuttled Republican leader Ozwald Balfour's efforts to disqualify the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office from prosecuting him for allegedly groping, or attempting to grope, four women.
Four sex assault cases filed against Balfour in 2005 were still unresolved last fall when he threw his support - and the free services of his two media consulting companies - to Republican district attorney candidate Lohra Miller.
Months later, defense attorney Benjamin Hamilton arranged a meeting with the new D.A. to discuss the potential dismissal of the charges, arguing there was insufficient evidence.
During the April meeting, Miller recognized Balfour's name, ended the discussion and delegated the cases to deputy prosecutor Alicia Cook, according to court documents.
...One woman testified Balfour came to her home in 2003 after she answered an ad about learning Web design. She said Balfour dropped his pants, began rubbing against her and tried to put his hands up her skirt.
Three other alleged victims claimed they were assaulted on Jan. 21, 2005, at Balfour's studio, International Media Services, at 340 W. Whitney Ave. (1410 South), during purported interviews for acting jobs.
One woman testified Balfour tried to get his hands under her shirt after taking her to a dark room adjoining his office. Another woman said Balfour told her, "Show me how a love scene goes," then kissed her neck and grabbed her breast. A third alleged victim said he unzipped her jacket and tried to lift her shirt.

Another GOP Blow job Artist convicted:
LINK
Excerpt:
Seconds after he was convicted Friday of soliciting a sex act in a park bathroom, legislative leaders were discussing how to remove him from office.
“This conviction makes it impossible for Rep. Allen to represent responsibly the citizens of his district,”
Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio harrumpped in a statement. 'Furthermore, it is my personal belief
that it harms the reputation of the Florida House of Representatives. We will now take the appropriate steps.'"
Bartcop.com notes:
It's like the Republicans can't go 24 hours without a penis in their mouth.
Are they addicted to the penises of strange men they meet in dark places?
Like Aquaman and water, if they don't have a penis at least once a day - they might die. So why does the religious right suck-up to these law-breaking, penis-loving, nancyboy Republicans?

Whatever - I mean, I read it in one of Mercedes Lackey's science fantasy stories , but I thought she made it up since I'd never heard it before. True, I'm not the sort of person who WOULD hear those kinds of things, but having run across the term in something that wasn't a fantasy book based on a fairy tale, I thought I'd ask. (What comes to my mind when I read the term is Nancy Reagan running the White House as Ronnie snoozed on - NOT what it means in context.)

ANOTHER GOP MAN GOES FOR THE BOYS
=======
See here.
A former GOP congressional aide has pleaded guilty to molesting two male teens, including the 13-year-old son of a family with whom the staffer lived while working on Capitol Hill.
37-year-old Jeffrey Ray Nielsen, who has worked previously for Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA), as well the Republican chair of California's Orange County, agreed to two felony counts of lewd acts upon a child, reports the Associated Press. A jury had deadlocked at an earlier trial this year -- in which Nielsen was accused of engaging in sexual acts with a 14-year-old boy he met on the internet -- and prosecutors were prepared to bring additional charges in a retrial.
The plea deal is expected to bring a sentence of three years in state prison, according to the Los Angeles Times.
